Supporting Student Health: New Diabetes Education Requirements

Our district is committed to ensuring that every student has the resources and support needed to thrive—academically, socially, and physically. In accordance with new state laws on diabetes education, RSA 200:40-d regarding Type 1 diabetes, you will find a link to the Department of Education’s diabetes informational materials.

Our goal is to create a safe, informed, and inclusive environment where students with diabetes can learn without barriers. On this page, you’ll find detailed education on a description of type 1 diabetes, a description of risk factors and warning signs associated with type 1 diabetes, warning signs associated with type 1 diabetes, a description of the screening process for type 1 diabetes and the implications of test results, as well as what to expect following a type 1 diagnosis.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding diabetes, please reach out to your school nurse or your child’s pediatrician.
